Spring Sprouts and "Inban" Porcelain
Spring, when creatures such as insects and plants emerge and begin their activities on the ground. The natural landscape takes on a different look from winter, revealing subtle movements.
In the style of woodblock printing, each piece of washi paper, imprinted with a pattern, is manually pressed onto a bisque-fired vessel. Using a brush moistened with water, the pattern is gently rubbed onto the surface in the process known as inban-stamping.
The warmth of this texture is imbued with the gentle irregularities created by human hands and water, softly permeating the surface.
The refined softness and pleasant tension of this porcelain evoke the generous spirit of the budding spring season, adorning meals with a sense of sophistication reminiscent of the awakening earth.
